Aymeric Augustin 55cbd65985 Fixed #20579 -- Improved TransactionTestCase.available_apps. 
Also moved its documentation to the 'advanced' section. It doesn't
belong to the 'overview'. Same for TransactionTestCase.reset_sequences.

When available_apps is set, after a TransactionTestCase, the database
is now totally empty. post_syncdb is fired at the beginning of the next
TransactionTestCase.

Aymeric Augustin 13b7f299de Added a stealth option to flush to allow cascades. 
This allows using flush on a subset of the tables without having to
manually cascade to all tables with foreign keys to the tables being
truncated, when they're known to be empty.

On databases where truncate is implemented with DELETE FROM, this
doesn't make a difference. The cascade is allowed, not mandatory.

Preston Holmes d228c1192e Fixed #19866 -- Added security logger and return 400 for SuspiciousOperation. 
SuspiciousOperations have been differentiated into subclasses, and
are now logged to a 'django.security.*' logger. SuspiciousOperations
that reach django.core.handlers.base.BaseHandler will now return a 400
instead of a 500.

If the fixture doesn't exist, loaddata will output a warning.

The fixture named "initial_data" is exceptional though; if it
doesn't exist, the warning is not emitted. This allows syncdb and
flush management commands to attempt to load it without causing
spurious warnings.

Aymeric Augustin 83a416f5e7 Made atomic usable when autocommit is off. 
Thanks Anssi for haggling until I implemented this.

This change alleviates the need for atomic_if_autocommit. When
autocommit is disabled for a database, atomic will simply create and
release savepoints, and not commit anything. This honors the contract of
not doing any transaction management.

This change also makes the hack to allow using atomic within the legacy
transaction management redundant.

None of the above will work with SQLite, because of a flaw in the design
of the sqlite3 library. This is a known limitation that cannot be lifted
without unacceptable side effects eg. triggering arbitrary commits.

Aymeric Augustin ba5138b1c0 Deprecated transaction.commit/rollback_unless_managed. 
Since "unless managed" now means "if database-level autocommit",
committing or rolling back doesn't have any effect.

Restored transactional integrity in a few places that relied on
automatically-started transactions with a transitory API.

Aymeric Augustin 7aacde84f2 Made transaction.managed a no-op and deprecated it. 
enter_transaction_management() was nearly always followed by managed().

In three places it wasn't, but they will all be refactored eventually.
The "forced" keyword argument avoids introducing behavior changes until
then.

This is mostly backwards-compatible, except, of course, for managed
itself. There's a minor difference in _enter_transaction_management:
the top self.transaction_state now contains the new 'managed' state
rather than the previous one. Django doesn't access
self.transaction_state in _enter_transaction_management.

    Used an absolute path for the SQLite database.

    This ensures the settings file works regardless of which directory
    django-admin.py / manage.py is invoked from.

    BASE_DIR got a +1 from a BDFL and another core dev. It doesn't involve
    the concept of a "Django project"; it's just a convenient way to express
    relative paths within the source code repository for non-Python files.

Aymeric Augustin 58a086acfb Required serializer to use bytes in loads/dumps 
loads has no way to tell if it should provide text or bytes to the
serializer; bytes are more reasonnable for a serialized representation,
and are the only option for pickled data.

dumps can perform conversions on the value it receives from the
serializer; but for consistency it seems better to require bytes too.

The current code would cause an exception when loading pickled session
data. See next commit.

Also fixed a bug when checking for compressed data.

Ramiro Morales f758bdab5e Fixed #18271 -- Changed stage at which TransactionTestCase flushes DB tables. 
Previously, the flush was done before the test case execution and now
it is performed after it.

Other changes to the testing infrastructure include:

* TransactionTestCase now doesn't reset autoincrement sequences either
  (previous behavior can achieved by using `reset_sequences`.)
  With this, no implicit such reset is performed by any of the provided
  TestCase classes.

* New ordering of test cases: All unittest tes cases are run first and
  doctests are run at the end.

THse changes could be backward-incompatible with test cases that relied
on some kind of state being preserved between tests. Please read the
relevant sections of the release notes and testing documentation for
further details.

Mike Grouchy f2abfe1e48 Adds interpreter option to shell command as per ticket #18639 
Specify python interpreter interface ipython or bpython with the -i,
--interface options
argument.
 ex// python manage.py shell -i bpython
 ex// python manage.py shell --interface bpython

Like all other options, defaults to default python interpreter when your
selected choice isn't available.

Anssi Kääriäinen 4fdd378beb Skip model validation when models are known good. 
In some situations Django calls model validation when the models are
already known good. This is most visible in tests, which use flush
and loaddata commands. This resulted in around 10% overhead when
running tests under sqlite.

Anssi Kääriäinen 527cce80dc Made table_names() output sorted. 
Fixed #18218 -- previously Django's introspection table_names() and
get_table_list() methods did not sort the output consistently. This
resulted in random order of inspected models.

This commit also removed all external usages of get_table_list().
table_names() should be used instead.

Ramiro Morales b5d9ad982d Fixed #16850 -- Made sure we always represent Decimal instances with JS strings when serializing. 
We force this when calling simplejson dump() to isolate us from changes of
default behavior to encode them with JavaScript numbers instead that could
introduce loss of precision when decoding back from JSON to Python.

Jacob Kaplan-Moss 4584069c8a Fixed #16746 - added more HTTP code/string mappings. 
This moves the arbitrary line on which HTTP codes to include away from
RFC 2616 and to the IANA assignments, thus picking up WebDAV and a couple

Malcolm Tredinnick 20473057d1 Modify validity check from r16678 slightly to work with Oracle. 
We now skip this particular check on Oracle backends. Change is based on
a backend feature check, so it also works with other backends that may
treat NULL as equal to an empty string.

Malcolm Tredinnick 8560a2c080 Teach inspectdb to handle SQL column names that are digits. 
There's no accounting for taste in the way some people name columns,
apparently. Create a column with a name of "1" and inspectdb will still

Ramiro Morales 1d270ac8a3 Reverted [14563] because it introduced a dependency from core on a contrib app (contenttypes). Fixes #16283, Refs #3055. Thanks TheRoSS for the report and Aymeric Augustin for finding the problem. 
This caused models shipped with some contrib apps to pollute the namespace when user's apps had the same name (e.g. auth, sites), even when these contrib apps weren't installed.

This undesired loading of contrib apps happened when model validation was executed, for example when running management commands that set or inherit `requires_model_validation=True`:
cleanup, dumpdata, flush, loaddata, reset, runfcgi, sql, sqlall, sqlclear, sqlcustom, sqlflush, sqlindexes, sqlinitialdata, sqlreset, sqlsequencereset, syncdb, createsuperusers, ping_google, collectstatic, findstatic.

This could also cause hard to diagnose problems e.g. when performing reverse URL resolving.

Jannis Leidel 38a2444277 Fixed #16050 -- BACKWARDS-INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE: Moved static files of the admin to conventional file system location. 
This also removes the need for ADMIN_MEDIA_PREFIX and replaces it with the convention to find admin's static files at STATIC_URL + 'admin/'.
