Fixed plural forms formula for the Croatian (hr) localization by manually overriding the header of affected .po files and re-generating .mo files, this seems to be a quirck in Transifex export to PO functionality. Thanks bmihelac fot the report. Refs #15634 .

Prevented non-admin users from accessing the admin redirect shortcut.

If the admin shortcut view (e.g. /admin/r/<content-type>/<pk>/) is
publically-accessible, and if a public users can guess a content-type ID
(which isn't hard given that they're sequential), then the redirect view could
possibly leak data by redirecting to pages a user shouldn't "know about." So
the redirect view needs the same protection as the rest of the admin site.

Fixed #14693 , #14709 -- Backwards incompatible change to rectify the confusion around the STATICFILES_URL and STATICFILES_ROOT settings.

* Two new global settings that will be used by -- **but are not limited to** -- the staticfiles app: STATIC_ROOT and STATIC_URL.
* Moving the 'django.contrib.staticfiles.templatetags.staticfiles' template tag to the core ('django.templatetags.static') and renaming it to 'get_static_prefix'.
* Moving the context processor 'django.contrib.staticfiles.context_processors.staticfiles' to the core ('django.core.context_processors.static') and renaming it to 'static'.
* Paths in media definitions will use STATIC_URL as the prefix if the value is not None, and falls back to the previously used MEDIA_URL.

Fixed #11967 : use a different technique to get `ADMIN_MEDIA_PREFIX` in admin JS.

We now store ADMIN_MEDIA_PREFIX on the window object and let JS files read it
from there. The old technique -- looking a <script> tags and trying to deduce
the prefix -- broke with libraries like TineMCE that dynamically add <script>
tags to the <head>.
This is potentially backwards-incompatible for folks who've overridden
`admin/base.html`; they'll need to add the proper <script> line to
their new `admin/base.html`. For that reason, this changeset shouldn't
be backported to 1.1.X.

#13068 is a regression caused by the new javascript inline forms in the
admin. The others were existing javascript bugs with prepopulated fields.
Since the solution depends on jQuery and would likely be very hard to
backport without it, it will not be backported to 1.1.X.

Tweaked a test to trigger the condition and verify the fix.
Finally, documented that limit_choices_to specified as a Q object has no effect
on the choices available for fields listed in raw_id_fields, and removed another
incorrect note that claimed limit_choices_to had no effect on inlines in the admin.

Fixed #12804 - regression with decorating admin views.

This is a BACKWARDS INCOMPATIBLE change, because it removes the flawed
'auto_adapt_to_methods' decorator, and replaces it with 'method_decorator'
which must be applied manually when necessary, as described in the 1.2
release notes.
For users of 1.1 and 1.0, this affects the decorators:
* login_required
* permission_required
* user_passes_test
For those following trunk, this also affects:
* csrf_protect
* anything created with decorator_from_middleware
If a decorator does not depend on the signature of the function it is
supposed to decorate (for example if it only does post-processing of the
result), it will not be affected.

Fixed #4604 - Configurable message passing system, supporting anonymous users

This deprecates User.message_set in favour of a configurable messaging
system, with backends provided for cookie storage, session storage and
backward compatibility.
Many thanks to Tobias McNulty for the bulk of the work here, with
contributions from Chris Beaven (SmileyChris) and lots of code review from
Russell Keith-Magee, and input from many others. Also credit to the authors
of various messaging systems for Django whose ideas may have been pinched

Allow CsrfResponseMiddleware to be used if templates cannot be updated.

For the case where someone is using contrib views with custom templates that
they cannot update to use the template tag, it should be possible to use
CsrfResponseMiddleware. This requires that 'csrf_response_exempt' is not
used for the admin views.

There is stub code for backwards compatiblity with Django 1.1 imports.
The documentation has been updated, but has been left in
docs/contrib/csrf.txt for now, in order to avoid dead links to
documentation on the website.

Fixed #9977 - CsrfMiddleware gets template tag added, session dependency removed, and turned on by default.

This is a large change to CSRF protection for Django. It includes:
* removing the dependency on the session framework.
* deprecating CsrfResponseMiddleware, and replacing with a core template tag.
* turning on CSRF protection by default by adding CsrfViewMiddleware to
the default value of MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES.
* protecting all contrib apps (whatever is in settings.py)
using a decorator.
For existing users of the CSRF functionality, it should be a seamless update,
but please note that it includes DEPRECATION of features in Django 1.1,
and there are upgrade steps which are detailed in the docs.
Many thanks to 'Glenn' and 'bthomas', who did a lot of the thinking and work
on the patch, and to lots of other people including Simon Willison and
Russell Keith-Magee who refined the ideas.

As of this commit, the CSRF code is mainly in 'contrib'. The code will be

Fixed #10061 -- Added namespacing for named URLs - most importantly, for the admin site, where the absence of this facility was causing problems. Thanks to the many people who contributed to and helped review this patch.

This change is backwards incompatible for anyone that is using the named URLs
introduced in [9739]. Any usage of the old admin_XXX names need to be modified
to use the new namespaced format; in many cases this will be as simple as a
search & replace for "admin_" -> "admin:". See the docs for more details on
the new URL names, and the namespace resolution strategy.

Removed some unconditional, invalid, IE-specific notations that were
protecting IE 5 users. IE 5 is sufficiently old, we don't really need to
do that and helping that small userbase at the expense of everybody else
was a slight priority inversion.

Fieldset dictionary names, search fields and unique_together attribute
names all have to be convertible to strings (that has always been true).
If somebody passes in a unicode object, Python barfs because Django uses
those values as keyword argument names and function calls require
parameter names to be str objects. We now convert thing to strs
automatically.

Made a bunch of improvements to admin actions. Be warned: this includes one minor but BACKWARDS-INCOMPATIBLE change.
...
These changes are:
* BACKWARDS-INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE: action functions and action methods now share the same signature: `(modeladmin, request, queryset)`. Actions defined as methods stay the same, but if you've defined an action as a standalone function you'll now need to add that first `modeladmin` argument.
* The delete selected action is now a standalone function registered site-wide; this makes disabling it easy.
* Fixed #10596 : there are now official, documented `AdminSite` APIs for dealing with actions, including a method to disable global actions. You can still re-enable globally-disabled actions on a case-by-case basis.
* Fixed #10595 : you can now disable actions for a particular `ModelAdmin` by setting `actions` to `None`.
* Fixed #10734 : actions are now sorted (by name).
* Fixed #10618 : the action is now taken from the form whose "submit" button you clicked, not arbitrarily the last form on the page.
* All of the above is documented and tested.

Looks like we have to use the same format specifiers in both singular and
plural forms of a message or the PO file cannot be compiled to MO format. This

Cleaned up and refactored `ModelAdmin.formfield_for_dbfield`:

* The new method uses an admin configuration option (`formfield_overrides`); this makes custom admin widgets especially easy.
* Refactored what was left of `formfield_for_dbfield` into a handful of smaller methods so that it's easier to hook in and return custom fields where needed.
* These `formfield_for_*` methods now pass around `request` so that you can easily modify fields based on request (as in #3987 ).

This *is* backwards compatible, but `admin.site.root()` has been deprecated. The new style is `('^admin/', include(admin.site.urls))`; users will need to update their code to take advantage of the new customizable admin URLs.

The current admin templates do not need this. However, a common way to customize admin
appearance is to provide your own 'base_site.html' template, and add stylesheets using
the extrastyle block. Without this patch, these customizations are lost.

I couldn't think of a way to test this automatically and robustly, however,
manual testing with the ticket example shows failure before and success

Removed the hidden import rules in the contrib.admin stylesheets. Each individual stylesheet is now linked to explicitly from the template where it's used (in the extrastyle block), with the exception of widgets.css, which is imported by forms.css, but still available separately for reuse. Also moved the override stylesheets (IE and RTL) below the extrastyle block and all styles within the conditional comment which blocks CSS from IE5 and lower.

Moved the bulk of the shortcut() function in django/views/defaults.py to a new module, django/contrib/contenttypes/views.py. As a result, django/views/defaults.py no longer relies on django.contrib.contenttypes. Of course, the shortcut() function is still available in the former module, for backwards compatibility. See the new FutureBackwardsIncompatibleChanges wiki page.

Fixed #7973 -- Added exclude to BaseModelAdmin to make everything consistent with the form/formset factories. Refs #8071 to make it easier to get at exclude. Thanks julien for the patch.
