Revised r9566 slightly to be backwards compatible with versions 1.0 - 1.0.2.

Also documented the change. We prefer to load directory_index.html for static
directory listings, but if you have the (older style) "directory_index"
template and no .html version, we'll load that. This should stop a bunch of
mysterious breakages when people upgrade to Django 1.0.3 or Django 1.1. Also
keeps the docs in sync with released code.

Upgraded included simplejson to 2.0.7.

Also changed importing logic to prefer a system-installed version of
simplejson (unless it's an earlier version that does not contian the C
speedups), then the json module from Python 2.6, then the version
shipped with Django.

Reconciling where- and having-clause behaviour.

Extricated the code that works directly with SQL columns (standard
"where" stuff) from the the code that takes SQL fragments and combines
it with lookup types and values. The latter portion is now more
generally reusable. Any existing code that was poking at Query.having
will now break in very visible ways (no subtle miscalculations, which is
a good thing).
This patch, en passant, removes the existing "having" test, since the
new implementation requires more setting up than previously. The
aggregates support (currently in a separate codebase) has tests for this
functionality that work as a replacement for the removed test.

The current admin templates do not need this. However, a common way to customize admin
appearance is to provide your own 'base_site.html' template, and add stylesheets using

Remove some code in loaddata that bails out of searching for fixture files (only when verbosity > 1) as soon as attempting to open any potential fixture file fails. The last use of it was removed in r9641 (it's internal API) and it's been
broken since r7477, as there's no longer a maximum of one OneToOneField per
model, so anything relying on it contained subtle bugs.

If an SQL query doesn't specify any ordering, avoid the implicit sort

that happens with MySQL when a "GROUP BY" clause is included. This is a
backend-specific operation, so any other databases requiring similar
encouragement can have a function added to their own backend code.

Added a 'permanent' argument the simple.redirect_to() generic view. It's True by default, to match existing behavior. If set to False, the redirect will be a 302 instead of a 301. This is technically backwards-incompatible if you were using the redirect_to generic view with a format-string key called 'permanent', which is highly, highly unlikely.

Fixed #6398 : added an optional `{% empty %}` clause to the `{% for %}` template tag. The contents of this clause are rendered if the list iterated over turns out to be empty. Thanks, Jannis Leidel.

Astute readers will notice that the patch originally called this `default`; after consideration I decided that `empty` is a very slightly better color for this particular bikeshed.

Removed the hidden import rules in the contrib.admin stylesheets. Each individual stylesheet is now linked to explicitly from the template where it's used (in the extrastyle block), with the exception of widgets.css, which is imported by forms.css, but still available separately for reuse. Also moved the override stylesheets (IE and RTL) below the extrastyle block and all styles within the conditional comment which blocks CSS from IE5 and lower.

Fixed #6948 -- The join filter was escaping the literal value that was

passed in for the connector. This was contrary to what the documentation
for autoescaping said and to what every other filter does with literal
strings as arguments.
This is backwards incompatible for the situation of the literal string
containing one of the five special HTML characters: if you were writing
{{ foo|join:"&" }}, you now have to write {{ foo| join:"&" }}.
Previous behaviour was, as noted, a bug and contrary to what was
documented and expected.

Fixed #9076 -- Changed BaseInlineFormSet to not override BaseModelFormSet's get_queryset method. BaseInlineFormSet's method did not include a couple of fixes/enhancements that were made to the parent's method, resulting in excessive queries (some of which can return bad data due to #9006 ) for admin pages with inlines.

Fixed #9307 -- Added the ability to pickle the Query class used by the Oracle

backend.
This allows Querysets to be cached for Oracle and should provide a model for
adding pickling support to other (external) database backends that need a
custom Query class.

A queryset that has had ordering removed (order_by()) can have ordering added

Fixed #6748 -- When printing the repr() of querysets, don't load or display

more than 20 objects.
This means that accidentally executing HugeStoryArchive.objects.all() at the
interactive prompt (or in the debug template) won't try to load all 4,233,010
stories into memory and print them out. That would previously cause resource
starvation and other "interesting" crashes.
If you really, really want the previous behaviour (e.g. in a doctest that
prints more than 20 items), display "list(qs)" instead of just "qs".

Fixed Queryset.dates() in the presence of extra-select columns.

Any extra(select=...) columns can be ignored in the SQL for dates, since we are
only interested in extracting distinct date values. We were previously
including them by accident and it was generating incorrect SQL.

Fixed #8573 -- Fixed bug in 'inspectdb' regarding case-sensitivity of field names. It was automatically lowercasing the column name to create the Field name, which was inaccurate in the case of column names that contained a capital letter. Thanks for reporting and detective work, ramiro

A bug from queryset-refactor days: although the Query class has "group_by" and

"having" attributes, only the former was included in the resulting SQL, meaning
subclasses had to completely duplicate Query.as_sql() if they were using any
kind of grouping filtering on the results.

Moved the bulk of the shortcut() function in django/views/defaults.py to a new module, django/contrib/contenttypes/views.py. As a result, django/views/defaults.py no longer relies on django.contrib.contenttypes. Of course, the shortcut() function is still available in the former module, for backwards compatibility. See the new FutureBackwardsIncompatibleChanges wiki page.

Changed the reverse() call for creating URLs to convert a "." in the reg-exp
...
pattern to a "." in the final output. This hides what is probably a bug in the
pattern (the user almost certainly should have written "\."), but it will avoid
a large number of "bug" reports about reverse().
