Fixed #10061 -- Added namespacing for named URLs - most importantly, for the admin site, where the absence of this facility was causing problems. Thanks to the many people who contributed to and helped review this patch.

This change is backwards incompatible for anyone that is using the named URLs
introduced in [9739]. Any usage of the old admin_XXX names need to be modified
to use the new namespaced format; in many cases this will be as simple as a
search & replace for "admin_" -> "admin:". See the docs for more details on
the new URL names, and the namespace resolution strategy.

Changes to `ImageFileDescriptor` and `ImageField` to fix a few cases of setting image dimension fields.

* Moved dimension field update logic out of `ImageFileDescriptor.__set__` and into its own method on `ImageField`.
* New `ImageField.update_dimension_fields` method is attached to model instance's `post_init` signal so that:
* Dimension fields are set when defined before the ImageField.
* Dimension fields are set when the field is assigned in the model constructor (fixes #11196 ), but only if the dimension fields don't already have values, so we avoid updating the dimensions every time an object is loaded from the database (fixes #11084 ).
* Clear dimension fields when the ImageField is set to None, which also causes dimension fields to be cleared when `ImageFieldFile.delete()` is used.
* Added many more tests for ImageField that test edge cases we weren't testing before, and moved the ImageField tests out of `file_storage` and into their own module within `model_fields`.

Fixed #11113 : fixed a couple of issues that slipped through the cracks when comment moderation was added to `django.contrib.comments`.

The is a potentially backwards-incompatible change for users already relying on the internals of comment moderaration. To wit:
* The moderation system now listens to the new `comment_will_be_posted`/`comment_was_posted` signals instead of `pre/post_save`. This means that import request-based information is available to moderation as it should be.
* Some experimental code from `django.contrib.comments.moderation` has been removed. It was never intended to be merged into Django, and was completely untested and likely buggy.

Fixed #10404 : ImageField height_field and width_field options no longer depend on putting the image field after the height/width fields as they did after r9766.

This bug actually exposed a related handful of inconsistancies in the underlying file handling and wraping, so a few related changes are in here as well:
* Dimensions are also now calculated the moment the image is assigned to the field instead of upon save.
* The base `File` object now when possible delegates its closed attribute down to the os-level file it wrapps.
* In-memory files' `close()` now is a no-op. Without this certain APIs that should be able to handle in-memory files were failing.
* Accessing `FieldFile.closed` used to open the file. That's silly, and it doesn't any more.
* Some over-eager error handling was squishing some errors that would normally be raised. One unit test was incorrectly depending on this behavior, so the test was removed.

Fieldset dictionary names, search fields and unique_together attribute
names all have to be convertible to strings (that has always been true).
If somebody passes in a unicode object, Python barfs because Django uses
those values as keyword argument names and function calls require
parameter names to be str objects. We now convert thing to strs
automatically.

Made a bunch of improvements to admin actions. Be warned: this includes one minor but BACKWARDS-INCOMPATIBLE change.

These changes are:
* BACKWARDS-INCOMPATIBLE CHANGE: action functions and action methods now share the same signature: `(modeladmin, request, queryset)`. Actions defined as methods stay the same, but if you've defined an action as a standalone function you'll now need to add that first `modeladmin` argument.
* The delete selected action is now a standalone function registered site-wide; this makes disabling it easy.
* Fixed #10596 : there are now official, documented `AdminSite` APIs for dealing with actions, including a method to disable global actions. You can still re-enable globally-disabled actions on a case-by-case basis.
* Fixed #10595 : you can now disable actions for a particular `ModelAdmin` by setting `actions` to `None`.
* Fixed #10734 : actions are now sorted (by name).
* Fixed #10618 : the action is now taken from the form whose "submit" button you clicked, not arbitrarily the last form on the page.
* All of the above is documented and tested.

Made a set of small test changes to avoid leaving temp files hanging around after running the test suite. First, fixed a couple of places where temp dirs were (or could be) created without later being deleted. Second, added a missing close() before unlink() since Windows raises an error on an attempt to remove an open file. Finally, in the file_uploads tests, avoided opening-by-name temporary files that we already have a descriptor for. Doing additional opens seems to run afoul of the Windows issue with deleting open files, so it generally works better to just seek back to 0 instead of calling open multiple times.

Fixed #10254 : Changed the regex in get_valid_filename to allow unicode alphanumerics (thanks gulliver). Also updated the file_uploads test for this case to check the name after saving the uploaded file. As it was the test ensured that files with unicode characters in their names could be uploaded, but it wasn't actually ensuring that the unicode characters were preserved through save.

Fixed #10681 -- Work around (by ignoring) invalid ETag headers.

This is a hack to work around problems in the Real World. Apparently, Opera
9.64 has been observed sending malformed headers. We now compromise our high
principles and simply ignore such bad behaviour.

Fixed #10043 -- widthratio tag now accepts a variable for the max_width argument.

Fixed #9587 . Formset.is_valid() now returns True if an invalid form is marked for deletion. Thanks for the test and intial patch, kratorius.

Note that this leaves the form and formset errors alone. Those forms still have errors, it's just that it doesn't matter that they're invalid in the context of the formset and deletion.

This is backwards-incompatible if you were doing things to 'initial' in BaseModelFormSet.__init__, or if you relied on the internal _total_form_count or _initial_form_count attributes of BaseFormSet. Those attributes are now public methods.

The conditional processing decorator from r10114 wasn't parsing ETags
from an If-Match header correctly. Patch from Ivan Sagalaev (who also

Fixed #5791 -- Added early-bailout support for views (ETags and Last-modified).

This provides support for views that can have their ETag and/or Last-modified
values computed much more quickly than the view itself. Supports all HTTP
verbs (not just GET).
Documentation and tests need a little more fleshing out (I'm not happy with the
documentation at the moment, since it's a bit backwards), but the functionality
is correct.

In extreme cases, some fields are expensive to load from the database
(e.g. GIS fields requiring conversion, or large text fields). This
commit adds defer() and only() methods to querysets that allow the
caller to specify which fields should not be loaded unless they are
accessed.

Use plain model.Manager, or suitable proxy, for model saving.

We can't use the default manager in Model.save_base(), since we need to
retrieve existing objects which might be filtered out by that manager. We now
always use a plain Manager instance at that point (or something that can
replace it, such as a GeoManager), making all existing rows in the
database visible to the saving code.
The logic for detecting a "suitable replacement" plain base is the same as for
related fields: if the use_for_related_fields is set on the manager subclass,
we can use it. The general requirement here is that we want a base class that
returns the appropriate QuerySet subclass, but does not restrict the rows
returned.
Fixed #8990 , #9527 .
Refs #2698 (which is not fixed by this change, but it's the first part of a
larger change to fix that bug.)

Fixed #10443 -- Fixed model attribute updating after r10003.

Adding a get_db_prep_save() call to the UpdateQuery code path meant it
was being called twice if you updated an existing model attribute. This
change removes that double call and also makes TimeField.to_python() a
little more robust for the benefit of the Oracle backend (just in case).

Fixed #9649 -- Better error handling in model creation.

Previously, you could explicitly assign None to a non-null ForeignKey
(or other) field when creating the model (Child(parent=None), etc). We
now throw an exception when you do that, which matches the behaviour
when you assign None to the attribute after creation.

Improved table join handling for comparisons against NULL.

This fixes a broad class of bugs involving filters that look for missing
related models and fields. Most of them don't seem to have been reported
(the added tests cover the root cause). The exception is that this has

Fixed #10121 : Restored code lost in r9766 that prevented overwriting an already-set blank=True FileField with blank. This would happen, for instance, in the admin if an object with a FileField was edited/saved but the file not re-uploaded, resulting in the association to the previously-uploaded file being lost. Adding the ability to re-blank FileFields when they are once set is the subject of a different ticket ( #7048 ), for now the pre-9766 behavior here has just been restored in order to avoid unexpected data loss. Thanks to Alex for help in understanding how to fix this without un-doing the intent of r9766.

Corrected code in serializers_regress testcase so that, in the case where an exception has been raised, rollback is called before attempting to leave transaction management. With the old code the original exception (IntegrityError on InnoDB) was getting hidden by a transaction management error resulting from attempting to leave transaction management with a pending commit/rollback.

Cleaned up and refactored `ModelAdmin.formfield_for_dbfield`:

* The new method uses an admin configuration option (`formfield_overrides`); this makes custom admin widgets especially easy.
* Refactored what was left of `formfield_for_dbfield` into a handful of smaller methods so that it's easier to hook in and return custom fields where needed.
* These `formfield_for_*` methods now pass around `request` so that you can easily modify fields based on request (as in #3987 ).

Fixed #8138 -- Changed django.test.TestCase to rollback tests (when the database supports it) instead of flushing and reloading the database. This can substantially reduce the time it takes to run large test suites.

This change may be slightly backwards incompatible, if existing tests need to test transactional behavior, or if they rely on invalid assumptions or a specific test case ordering. For the first case, django.test.TransactionTestCase should be used. TransactionTestCase is also a quick fix to get around test case errors revealed by the new rollback approach, but a better long-term fix is to correct the test case. See the testing doc for full details.

Fixed #6470 : made the admin use a URL resolver.

This *is* backwards compatible, but `admin.site.root()` has been deprecated. The new style is `('^admin/', include(admin.site.urls))`; users will need to update their code to take advantage of the new customizable admin URLs.

rvals to filters. You can now pass QuerySets, which requires less poking at

Reconciling where- and having-clause behaviour.

Extricated the code that works directly with SQL columns (standard
"where" stuff) from the the code that takes SQL fragments and combines
it with lookup types and values. The latter portion is now more
generally reusable. Any existing code that was poking at Query.having
will now break in very visible ways (no subtle miscalculations, which is
a good thing).
This patch, en passant, removes the existing "having" test, since the
new implementation requires more setting up than previously. The
aggregates support (currently in a separate codebase) has tests for this
functionality that work as a replacement for the removed test.

If an SQL query doesn't specify any ordering, avoid the implicit sort

that happens with MySQL when a "GROUP BY" clause is included. This is a
backend-specific operation, so any other databases requiring similar
encouragement can have a function added to their own backend code.

Added a 'permanent' argument the simple.redirect_to() generic view. It's True by default, to match existing behavior. If set to False, the redirect will be a 302 instead of a 301. This is technically backwards-incompatible if you were using the redirect_to generic view with a format-string key called 'permanent', which is highly, highly unlikely.

Fixed #6948 -- The join filter was escaping the literal value that was

passed in for the connector. This was contrary to what the documentation
for autoescaping said and to what every other filter does with literal
strings as arguments.
This is backwards incompatible for the situation of the literal string
containing one of the five special HTML characters: if you were writing
{{ foo|join:"&" }}, you now have to write {{ foo| join:"&" }}.
Previous behaviour was, as noted, a bug and contrary to what was
documented and expected.
